At NEWVISION, we've put several interesting twists in the creation of such documentation. And we discovered that even when the material is matter-of-fact, it doesn't have to be cut and dry.

We converted paper catalogs to CD-ROM with dynamic menus (click on topic in table of contents and it jumps to that section of the document). We helped post Instruction Booklets and Engineering manuals on the company's website. We also developed a custom database application that allows customers to fill out job service requests online. This application factors supplies, estimated hours, and creates a cost estimate, giving the customer the info he or she needs to make the purchase decision.
